Powin is looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and improve our North America manufacturing processes. This position will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and enhancing operating/manufacturing systems by utilizing continuous improvement (Lean) tools to improve manufacturing quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and conformance with regulatory standards. As the primary liaison with Powin’s factory’s and Contract Manufacturer’s, this position will work closely with our Design Engineers in providing key inputs to both current designs as well as new product introductions, thereby ensuring optimal Design for Manufacturing to increase manufacturability and optimize/decrease costs.
Providing technical solutions to manufacturing processes and procedures involved in delivering products.
Working with all levels to identify and implement process improvements, find process interactions & dependencies Determining root cause in problem resolution and ensuring implementation of improvements.
Leading value analysis and value engineering initiatives in driving YoY productivity gains.
Designing testing methods/equipment to ensure product and process quality.
Ensuring manufacturing & testing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
Establishing & driving key operational performance metrics within our CM’s in delivering quality, on-time delivery at optimal cost.
Maintaining and applying knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications for NPI.
B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Process-Engineering or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
Commitment to health and safety standards & environmental regulations.
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, testing methods and tool design.
Analytical Skills – ability to identify areas of low efficiency and work to provide improvements.
Lean Manufacturing Skills – must be able to identify and eliminate waste within systems.
QA and QC Skills – experienced in ISO 9000, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, etc.
Communication Skills – ability to work at all levels of the organization with excellent verbal and written skills
Technical Skills – ability to assimilate different technologies to provide solutions which produce required results most efficiently.
Commercial Awareness – focus on the “bigger picture” at all times when considering each step within manufacturing processes.
Problem Solving Skills – ability to take a concept of a process and establish the equipment needed to make it happen.
Organizational Abilities – bias for teamwork and ability to prioritize tasks, set schedules and work between different projects.
