Powin is seeking a Distribution Analyst that will report to the Senior Director of Global Logistics. In this role you will have the opportunity to effectively manage the imports for our diverse and globally distributed manufacturing supply network. This network includes offshore Powin owned manufacturing assets and a number of outsource manufacturing companies.


  • Serve as the internal control tower liaison to the project management team for all transportation and logistics requirements.
  • Monitor inbound ocean shipment status, coordinate import clearance, and arrange domestic transportation.
  • Utilize daily management to track performance against plan.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, offshore suppliers and plants.
  • Analyze and review operations key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement, determine root cause, and develop plans to resolve; leads execution of the resolution.
  • Implement transportation policies and procedures, including preferred methods and measurements, processes, and costs.
  • Leads operational transportation resolution on destressed orders.
  • Researches and recommends continuous improvement opportunities for the operation based on external benchmarking and industry best practices.
  • Responsible for reviewing and insuring accuracy of shipment documentation including product documentation.


  • BS or BA degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • International ocean shipping experience required
  • Dedicated or regional transportation experience preferred
  • Proven understanding of statistics and strong analytic skills
  • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles and standard project management processes
  • Ability to recognize innovative opportunities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, preferably Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
