Summary:
The Systems Engineering team comprises subject matter experts as an integral part of Powin’s scalability and long-term approach to customer success and experience. The Systems Engineering team will define system requirements and provide day-to-day support to Sales, Sales Engineering, and Project Engineering. Expertise, training, mentoring, studies, and analysis will be provided to support project requirements and various tools to elevate and streamline the Project Success Team.
This position will work closely with various departments to ensure projects fulfill customer functionality and contract requirements to provide system solutions and support the customer experience through the entire customer lifecycle. The Control Systems Engineer will be a subject matter expert and resource for Sales, Bid Management, Project Engineering, Project Success Executives, and customers on all topics related to SCADA, Powin Apps, customer control integration, and customer remote operation. This position will use their technical expertise to deeply understand the benefits and features of the Powin Battery Energy Storage System and how it can be best integrated with the customer’s control system and remote operation.
Job Details:
- Work with the sales engineering and project engineering teams on control requirements and apps needed to meet system designs and specifications for both standard and non-standard customer requirements
- Work with the sales, bid management teams, and the customers to review and provide support for technical documents required in customer contracts
- Provide support on overall site-level network architecture and cyber security requirements
- Ensure system project designs aligns with product software offerings, customer integration requirements, and grid interconnect requirements
- Provide documentation, white papers, and training to internal and external customers
- Undertake research and training to enhance existing offerings and fill-in gaps in knowledge, expertise and skills
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in supporting development, design, and implementation of SCADA systems for electric utilities or other industries
- Expertise with SCADA, Modbus, and networking applications
- Experience with implementing Ethernet based SCADA networks
- Familiar with network architecture including VLANs, Firewalls, and managed switches
- Ability to create system designs, single lines and block diagrams using AutoCAD or Visio/Smart draw
- Demonstrated ability to successfully overcome the challenges and uncertainties of a fast paced and rapidly growing company
- Specific experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
- Comfortable communicating and interfacing with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Occasional travel to visit vendors, customers, or project sites (domestic and international)
