Powin’s Product Management group is seeking a Performance Analyst with strong analytical capabilities, a background in engineering, and a passion for making energy storage simple, safe, and cost-effective.

The role is hands on, reporting directly to the Director of Analytics and sitting within the Product Management group. You will assist with developing, refining, and advancing Powin’s battery energy storage technology for use in the next generation of the grid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model development and data analysis supporting and providing insights around the performance of energy storage assets in the field
  • Researching and distilling the latest trends and innovations in energy storage design, operating performance, and optimization
  • Generate tools and reports that efficiently distill large amounts of operating data from various components of energy storage systems
  • Conducting deep dive analyses of product challenges and opportunities as they related to improving the performance of energy storage technology; formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership
  • Producing written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective metric development and reporting
  • Simplifying and automating reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders
  • Supporting business with time-critical tactical data analyses

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience providing quantitative analysis, energy storage design, and/or technical consulting related to renewable energy and storage.
  • Professional experience and proficiency using Python and related frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flask and Dash).
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of machine learning and statistical models and methods.
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • An ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to lead large projects and drive through completion.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to aggregate and pull data from relational databases and technologies - e.g., Postgres, Redshift, etc.

Background in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or similar technical field.

This is a remote or on-site, full-time, salaried position located in our Tualatin, OR office.
