The role of Production Demand Planner is a key functional position, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP). This position will require an experienced demand planner to manage and manage material demand plan in concert with Master Production Scheduling (MPS). Assess material constraint assessments, and demand plan aggregation with commissioning and field service demands into an overarching Demand Plan. Working closely with procurement teams on lead times and capacity management with OEM suppliers, leveraging his/her strong analytical and communication skill set. This role will be challenged to coordinate all inputs from Global Procurement, Sales, and Service to update and communicate the Demand plan. The core functions of the position include tactical decision-making, and process improvement recommendations related to balancing demand and supply plans.

Job Details:

  • Manage the aggregation of the demand plan input data from all intake areas into periodic interval demand plans and forecast outlooks for all areas, 3rd Party Production, In-House production, Commissioning, Service, and aftermarket sales.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns and evolution from a Make-to-Order to a Make-to-Stock model.
  • Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders.
  • Ensure constant communication with main stakeholders from Sales, Manufacturing, Program Management, Supply Chain and Procurement pertinent to requirements and impacts.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner and communicate potential solution sets.
  • Establish planning calendar to assure updates on a standard cadence.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes.
  • Identify and collaborate on constrained materials availability to assist production developed schedules, and adjust forecasts accordingly
  • Work closely with Procurement and overseas counterparts to mitigate risk to delivery schedules, to assess alternative sourcing options.
