We are seeking a transformative Procurement leader with deep experience with Asia supply chain. This position requires procurement and supply chain experience in both a manufacturing and a project-based environment, a passion for renewable energy, and the ability to work across cultures, build collaborative processes to scale with the business, and transform vendor relationships and supply chain flow. This position works closely with the US-based project operations team and the Asia manufacturing team. This position will be tasked with continual supply chain cost efficiencies through vendor negotiation and management and will work closely with the product engineering team and the manufacturing/production teams during new product development. This position reports through the CFO organization and acts as a critical driver for Powin’s competitive strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Vendor relationship management, including quality assurance and compliance
  • Analyzing and evaluating vendor performance
  • Facilitating efficient and cost-effective procurement strategies
  • Improving the supply chain by driving cost downs while maintaining standards for product quality
  • Identification, realization, and tracking of cost-saving and cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensure product delivery on schedule to meet critical production and project timelines
  • Align procurement performance with key business objectives
  • Supplier contract negotiation and due diligence

Key Success Factors:

  • Experience working with Asia supply chain, including direct negotiation with suppliers and competitive bid management
  • Tenacity to continually drive improvement in supply base competitive pricing, quality, and efficiency
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly align component pricing to product BOM build up
  • Ability to successfully communicate and collaborate across different areas of the business in a fast passed environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to communicate successfully across cultural barriers and drive timely results
  • Strong communication skills and ability to think on your feet
  • Ability to successfully dive into the details while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Fluency in Mandarin strongly preferred
