Summary:

Powin is looking for an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of product security for software applications. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer reports to the VP of Software Engineering, but will work directly with software engineers, test engineers, and corporate IT to create and execute security plans ranging from early development to fielded, production software. This position is a key element for our technical staff and will be involved at every stage of product development and deployment.

Job Details:

  • Own cybersecurity for software products at all stages of the development lifecycle
  • Partner with corporate IT (CISO) as needed to reinforce security both inside Powin and at customer sites
  • Implement and employ cybersecurity best practices for code, data, systems, and networks
  • Evaluate requirements for external security consultants and recommend engagement as needed
  • Create or select and deploy security tools across the entire development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architects and software developers to ensure we build security into our products
  • Use static and dynamic analysis tools to test firmware, software, systems, and networks from development through production
  • Participate in PSIRT organization to evaluate new reports and work with other engineers to develop workarounds, patches, and other remediation
  • Participate in post-mortem investigations and author detailed reports as needed

Qualifications:

  • 7 – 10 years of experience as a cybersecurity professional
  • Experience with internal or external involvement with product development teams
  • Experience with Red teaming and whitehat hacking exercises
  • Knowledge of penetration testing using open source and proprietary tools
  • Experience with static (code) and dynamic (runtime) analysis tools
  • Knowledge of runtime reverse engineering, code path and data manipulation, and advanced persistent threat vectors
  • Familiarity with specific threats requiring physical access, including evasion, deception, social engineering, and other relevant TTPs
  • 3-5 years of experience working with cloud/SaaS products (AWS preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience in the energy sector or other critical infrastructure industries
  • Deep understanding of Linux and Java from a security perspective
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking and various application protocols preferred

Remote position, with expected regular travel to the Tualatin office.
