The Project Engineer has a broad area of activity and will follow the BESS system through project initiation and RFP, sizing, and optimization, contracting, commissioning, and operations life cycle. PEs work closely with Powin’s own and third-party product engineers and provide varying levels of support from Sales through to Operations depending upon the product maturity and customer’s familiarity with storage systems.

Job Functions and Reporting: Employee reports directly to the Project Engineering Manager, or as directed by the company. The goal of this job is to help the intern learn how a battery integrator functions and introduce the intern to the energy storage industry.

Internship Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Engineering staff in Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Perform calculations and create battery energy storage system designs
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings and single line diagrams
  • Become familiar with Powin technology and product applications
  • Attend Project Engineering team meetings and keep minutes for participant reference

Degrees and Skills required for this position

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or line of sight to a degree in the near term
  • Excel, Word, and other Microsoft software suite fluency
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-direct and support internal and external customers
